Nomos Glashütte dives in before summer dips out by adding another member to the Ahoi product family. Dubbed the Ahoi neomatik 38 Date Atlantik, the new watch comes with a unisex diameter of 38.5mm and a moderate height of only 9.9mm. It is distinguished by a dark blue dial, which perfectly evokes the maritime theme. The strong contrast of white numerals, indexes and hands on its dark blue background ensures great readability. Strong accents are also set by the red second hand and the yellow hour markers. The Arabic numerals, indices and large hands glow green underwater and at night. Also aboard is a large, easy-to-read date window is located at 3 o'clock.

It was with the Ahoi that the Glashütte-based watchmaker presented its first-ever sports watch. All models in the collection are water-resistant to 200 meters thanks to the six-fold screw-down case back and screw-down crown.

A red ring warns the wearer when the crown is not fully screwed in.

The Ahoi neomatik 38 Date Atlantik is driven by the genuine DUW 6101 movement, which was specifically adapted to the case size. The patented self-winding caliber features a convenient quickset-date function, an efficient bi-directional rotor, 42 jewels and is finely regulated in six positions. The high precision of the manufacture movement is ensured by the Nomos Swing System, which was introduced in 2014 and can be recognized by the temperature-blued balance spring.

In addition to this high-precision mechanism, various Glashütte specialties - such as the three-quarter plate, Nomos striped finish and blued screws - bear witness to the art of engineering and watchmaking. Like the Ahoi neomatik 38 Date Sky and Sand presented last year, the Ahoi neomatik 38 Date Atlantic is also available with a closed case back for $4,320. The variant with sapphire crystal case back is priced at $4,660.
