Why Was NBA Star LeBron James Visiting Audemars Piguet?

AP's Francois-Henry Bennahmias & LeBron JamesToday’s NBA certainly boasts its share of watch-loving superstars. A few of them have even come aboard watch brands as official “ambassadors” or “friends of the brand,” such as Dwyane Wade and Kobe Bryant (both Hublot), Tony Parker (Tissot) and Carmelo Anthony (soon to announce with IWC). Now we have received word that Miami Heat star and NBA Finals MVP LeBron James has paid a visit to the Audemars Piguet manufacture in Le Brassus, Switzerland (photos below).

And we can also report that LeBron (like actor/”governator” Arnold Schwarzenegger, another AP “friend of the brand”) will soon be honored with his own limited-edition timepiece at a major bash in Miami Beach on Friday. I will be there on the scene for WatchTime, which means visitors to WatchTime.com and our social media channels will be among the first to get a glimpse of the watch, whose details are still shrouded in secrecy — nope, AP tells me, can’t even let you know which collection it will be in. Stay tuned.
