Vintage Diving: Meet the Vulcain Skindiver Nautique 38mm

Symbolizing robustness, discovery, and adventure, diver’s watches make a striking impression on the wrist – whether on dry land or in the water. Combining high functionality with cool style, it is not a surprise that this genre ranks among the most sought-after timepieces, proven by the plethora of diver’s watches available on the market. In light of this fact, there is only one thing that can top the popular diver’s watch: a vintage-style diver’s watch.

Swiss brand Vulcain, an important player on this field, since the 1950s, kicks off the season with a picture-perfect retro-style timepiece. The Skindiver Nautique 38mm breathes new life into a Vulcain icon from the 60s.

Available with a matte black or vertically brushed blue dial, both equipped with khaki brown Super-Luminova-enhanced hands and indexes, it takes to the water in a 38mm 316L stainless steel case which is water-resistant to 200 meters and framed by a unidirectional rotating bezel with black ceramic insert.

The Skindiver Nautique 38mm is powered by ETA’s 2824 three-hand Swiss automatic caliber with a 38-hour power reserve that ticks behind a closed case. It is attached to a black leather strap with carbon pattern.

Pricing is marked at $1,607.
