Bienvenue à rue Cambon: Chanel Unveils Stunning Automaton Piece at Watches and Wonders

The J12 Couture Workshop Automaton Caliber 6 Watch is a new creation from the Chanel Watchmaking Creation Studio. Inspired by Gabrielle Chanel and her couture atelier at 31 rue Cambon, the watch features a dial that comes to life to mirror the movements of a couture atelier, with Mademoiselle Chanel and her scissors at the center. She is shown at her best, ready for the next project. The detail of the scene is as stunning as the legendary fashion designer’s creations.

Limited to 100 pieces, this exceptional two-hand watch is presented in a matte black ceramic case, a Chanel specialty, with a diameter of 38 mm and a water resistance of 50 meters. The bezel surrounding the dial is set with 48 baguette diamonds.

The J12 Couture Workshop Automaton Caliber 6 watch is powered by the new genuine Caliber 6, beating at 4 Hz and assembled by the Chanel Manufacture in Switzerland. The hand-wound movement, which brings Mademoiselle’s silhouette to life at the touch of a button, is composed of 355 components and offers a 72-hour power reserve stored in two barrels. Naturally, it reflects the brand’s values of aesthetic and technical excellence, and is beautifully finished and a sight to behold.
