Wildlife Conservation: Norqain Unveils the Wild ONE Skeleton Hakuna Mipaka 42mm – Limited Edition
As part of its ongoing commitment to wildlife protection, Norqain introduces the Wild ONE Skeleton Hakuna Mipaka 42mm, a limited-edition timepiece developed in close collaboration with "Norqainer" and wildlife ambassador Dean Schneider. This marks the third time that the Swiss independent watchmaker has partnered with Schneider to support Hakuna Mipaka Oasis, a wildlife sanctuary in South Africa that provides a safe and species-appropriate environment for rescued lions, hyenas, monkeys, and more.
Limited to just 200 pieces worldwide, this bold and aesthetically eye-catching sports watch is engineered for performance in the harshest conditions. The skeletonized black dial features an open-worked architecture with white and red accents that give the watch depth and vibrancy. The rhodium-plated, diamond-cut markers are filled with white X1 Super-LumiNova, ensuring excellent legibility in low-light conditions. The partially skeletonized hour and minute hands are also rhodium-plated with red X1 Super-LumiNova tips, while the flat central seconds hand features a white luminous center and orange outline.
The 42mm case is made from NORTEQ, a carbon fiber composite that is six times lighter than steel and 3.5 times lighter than titanium. Engineered for durability and to provide maximum protection for the movement, it includes a sandblasted titanium inner container and a black rubber shock absorber. The design consists of 25 individual parts, assembled for both technical performance and aesthetic refinement. Water-resistant to 200 meters, the case is anti-magnetic, corrosion-resistant, and ideal for high-impact sports and expeditions.
Powering the Wild ONE Skeleton Hakuna Mipaka is the Caliber N08S, a COSC-certified skeleton movement developed in partnership with Sellita. Beating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), it delivers a 41-hour power reserve. The movement is finished with the brand’s custom-designed skeleton rotor, visible through the transparent case back with a red “Hakuna Mipaka” print and the unique edition number out of 200.
The vegan-certified rubber strap is also an eye-catcher boasting a hand-applied geometric pattern inspired by the natural landscape of Hakuna Mipaka. No two straps are alike, making each watch truly unique. A custom Norqain plate with a safari texture on the case side completes the wild aesthetic.
Pricing is marked at $5,990. Ten percent of all proceeds will be donated directly to the Hakuna Mipaka Foundation.
