Steel with a Smoky Blue Dial: Meet the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding 43 MM

One of the greatest joys for watch enthusiasts is observing the evolution and reissues of iconic models. A striking example is Audemars Piguet’s latest execution of the Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding 43 mm. Premiered in 1993 as an offspring to the famous Royal Oak and nicknamed ‘The Beast’ due to its size and weight, the latest member of this luxury sports watch family sets sail with some awesome aesthetic details, combining a dark blue with the cool look and feel of stainless steel.

Water-resistant to 100 meters, the 43mm stainless steel case is fitted with a blue rubber-coated bezel and attached to a matching rubber strap. This two-tone aesthetic continues onto the smoked blue Méga Tapisserie dial. The watch face is furnished with rhodium-toned gold trapezoidal-shaped hour-markers and Royal Oak hands, which have been enhanced with a luminescent coating for optimum visibility, a blue inner bezel, and an AP monogram in polished rhodium-toned gold at 12 o’clock. There is also a date window at 3 o’clock. Other details to note are redesigned crown guards and satin-finished studs that operate the interchangeable strap system.

Powered by the Audemars Piguet manufacture caliber 4302, this Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding 43 mm is equipped with a patented mechanism that provides stability and precision when setting the watch. Beating to the rhythm of 4 Hz and with a 70-hour power reserve, the movement is fitted the watchmaker’s signature blackened 22-carat pink gold oscillating weight that can be admired through the screwed sapphire crystal case back along with the refined decorations adorning the movement, including Côtes de Genève, vertical, circular and sunray brushes, circular graining and polished chamfers.

Pricing is marked at $26,500. The Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding is delivered with an additional black rubber strap.

$26,500 and they can’t include a decent leather band. Waste of money and not very eye-pleasing
