Among them is the new Calatrava 8 Days Ref. 5328G-001 which combines two of the most useful indications for every-day life in an innovative manner: an instantaneous display of the weekday through an aperture and a pointer date. Both change promptly at midnight and are integrated into the subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o'clock. This highly legible vertical and beautifully balanced layout is complemented by the power reserve indication at 12 o'clock.

In typical Calatrava-fashion, the grained blue dial with a black gradient rim is furnished with sans-serif Arabic numerals and syringe-style hands, which are coated with white luminescent coating for night-time readability. The 41mm x 10.52mm white gold case features a smooth bezel, a hobnail guilloché case band, and straight lugs. It goes without saying that it shows the beauty of the movement through an exhibition case back.

The new hand-wound caliber 31-505 8J PS IRM CI J combines a classic architecture with several technical innovations, including a Silinvar Pulsomax escapement. The two barrels connected in series ensure that the watch functions with perfect precision for eight full days, with a ninth day "in reserve." This additional 24-hour period is marked in red on the power-reserve display.

The Calatrava 8 Days ref. 5328G-001 is available with two straps: a blue textile pattern calfskin strap with cream stitching and a grained taupe calfskin strap. Both are secured by a patented triple fold-over clasp.

Pricing is marked at CHF60,000 or approximately $68,000 when converted to USD.
