Inspired by the beauty of the Verzasca Valley (Valle Verzasca) in the canton of Ticino in southern Switzerland, Parmigiani Fleurier introduces a new variant of its acclaimed PF GMT Rattrapante watch at this year's Watches and Wonders. Named after this stunning landscape set in the Swiss Alps, the Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante Verzasca features a vibrant green dial that is enhanced with the brand's signature Grain d'Orge guilloche pattern.

This intricate decor makes for a beautiful backdrop for the sophisticated GMT indication of this haute-horlogerie timepiece, which consists of two superimposed hour hands: one in rhodium-plated gold and the other in rose gold. Pressing the pusher located between 7 and 8 o’clock causes the upper rhodium-plated gold hand dedicated to local time to jump one hour forward, thereby revealing the rose gold hand which displays time in the wearer’s place of residence, known as “home time”.

Once the second time zone information is no longer required, pressing the crown-integrated rose gold pushbutton repositions the rhodium-plated hand on top of the rose gold hand in the same manner as a split-seconds chronograph hand, hence the name "Rattrapante."

This seemingly simple yet highly sophisticated mechanism is provided by the self-winding manufacture caliber PF051, which boasts a micro rotor in rose gold and beats with 21,600 Vph. Its beautiful finishing in accordance with contemporary haute horlogerie standards can be admired through the sapphire case back. Particularly eye-catching is the refined Grain d’Orge pattern on the oscillating mass that echoes the decor of the Verzasca green dial. The Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante is clad into a 40 x 10.7mm stainless steel case boasting a knurled platinum bezel and a water-resistance rating to 60 meters.

“The Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante speaks the language of emotion and intuition. It erases the distance between time zones and people with a single gesture. It is not just another complication but a more human and elegant way of experiencing time. In an era when the world is more connected than ever, we wanted to create a complication that disappears when no longer needed, offering a luxury of purity and discretion that only reveals itself to those who require it. This is how we define true luxury: an invisible sophistication that serves the essentials.”

Guido Terreni, CEO Parmigiani Fleurier

The Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante Verzasca is equipped with a finely finished metal bracelet. Pricing is marked at CHF28.700 CHF or approximately $33,400 when converted to USD.
