Meistersinger Unveils New Kaenos at Watches & Wonders 2025

This year, Meistersinger makes its debut at Watches and Wonders, unveiling a completely new product family that showcases the brand's unmistakable signature, while defining its own unique style. The Kaenos collection includes two different lines and a special edition created in collaboration with Alain Silberstein.

With the introduction of the entirely new Kaenos collection, Meistersinger makes a striking entrance at Watches and Wonders 2025. The Kaenos follows the launch of the women’s Yaraa collection in autumn 2024. Like the Yaraa, the name Kaenos has a story to tell: The term is derived from the Greek word "kainos," meaning "new" or "fresh," and alludes to the Cenozoic era, a time of renewal in Earth’s history.

For those familiar with the German brand from Münster, it will come as no surprise that the Kaenos is a single-hand watch—a feature that Meistersinger has elevated into an art form over the past 25 years. The single hand on the dial indicates the time with five-minute precision. The use of double-digit numerals ensures the design remains cohesive. However, this new family of watches has a decidedly sporty character. Its robust features include a 100-meter water resistance, an integrated metal bracelet that smoothly transitions into the case, and a luminous time display. The Kaenos is available in two versions: the classic Kaenos with a date at six o'clock and the Kaenos Open Date, which features a date ring on the inside—a signature feature of Meistersinger, also seen in the Pangaea Day Date.

Both models come with four different dial options. One features a deep matte night black, while the others showcase fine sunburst finishes in light grey, ice blue, and petrol—each creating a captivating play of colors depending on the light. The black or silver-brushed hands, which are reminiscent of early measuring instruments—a hallmark of Meistersinger—perfectly complement the stainless steel case. The dial itself consists of two layers, with the numbers and hour markers carefully cut out of the top layer, revealing a second, luminescent layer beneath. This multi-layered design not only creates a fascinating three-dimensional effect but also ensures strong luminosity for excellent readability in the dark.

The Kaenos’ newly designed case features a 40mm diameter. Its surfaces are both polished and brushed, giving it an elegant appearance. This alternating finish continues into the integrated metal bracelet, which forms a seamless unit with the case.

The Kaenos is powered by the Swiss-made Sellita SW400 automatic movement, which, due to its larger diameter, allows for a particularly large date window at the 6 o'clock position. The Kaenos Open Date is powered by the Sellita SW200. At midnight, the date changes swiftly to the next day. Both calibers have a 38-hour power reserve and are visible through the sapphire crystal case back.

The Kaenos is priced at €2,650 or approximately $2,890 when converted to USD, while the Kaenos Open Date is priced at €2,950 or $3,220 respectively. Both models will be available for purchase in April 2025.

In addition, Meistersinger is launching two special editions of the Kaenos, each limited to 250 pieces, which were created in collaboration with Alain Silberstein. They boldly feature bright colours and reflect the typical signature of the well-known watch designer. The Meistersinger X Alain Silberstein Edition Kaenos Grand Date is priced at €4,100 or $4,470. The Meistersinger X Alain Silberstein Edition Kaenos Open Date retails for €4,400 or $4,800.
