There is a new kid in town: Coblor, being the latest brand to join the vibrant watch scene in Germany with its starting model, the Nürburgring Asphalt 1 Chronograph.

The brand and its watch's debut is quite impressive, with the timepiece being a self-winding chronograph that features a watch face made from a piece of the Nürburgring motor race track. In order to turn it into a watch face, merely 0.9 high, the piece of pavement that was removed during a construction phase in November 2021, underwent a special process. It displays a classic bicompax layout with the subsidiary seconds at 9 o'clock, the 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock and a central stop seconds hand and is completed by Superluminova coating on markers and hands as well as a tachymeter scale on the black ceramic bezel.

Produced in two editions each limited to 500 pieces, the Nürburgring Asphalt revs up in a 44mm titanium grade 5 case in a pure version or with a black PVD coating. It's water-resistant to 100 meters and houses the self-winding chronograph movement COB.01 which is produced by the La Chaux-de-Fonds based Concepto manufacture.

The exhibition case back reveals beautiful finishing such as Geneva Waves, beveling and anthracite coating on the steel parts of the chronograph mechanism. There is also plate that depicts the "Nordschleife", (North Loop), a particularly challenging track section of the course.

Combined with a rubber strap, the Nürburgring Asphalt 1 Titanium Black and Titanium Pure both have retail price of approximately $6,100 and are available for pre-order on the brand's website.
