Longines and Wempe Celebrate their Partnership with Limited Longines Spirit Zulu Time

In celebration of their decades-long partnership dating back to the year 1925, Wempe and Longines are launching a special edition of the Longines Spirit Zulu Time. This GMT watch, reintroduced by the Swiss brand in 2021, also traces its origins to 1925 when it was the first Longines timepiece with two time zones. Its dial featured the Zulu signal flag – Zulu representing the letter Z, used in aviation and military contexts to denote world time. Its modern reinterpretation stands out with superb craftsmanship and attention to detail.

The bi-directional rotating bezel of this special edition is equipped with a royal blue ceramic insert, elegantly contrasting with the black lacquered and polished dial. The central hour, minute, and second hands are complemented by a 24-hour hand with a blue arrowhead, along with a date window at 6 o’clock. The hands and numerals, coated with Super-LumiNova, ensure optimal readability even in low light conditions. The 42mm stainless steel case, water-resistant up to 100 meters, comes with an interchangeable stainless steel bracelet.

Powering the Longines Spirit Zulu Time is an exclusively crafted automatic caliber that is resistant to magnetic fields and features a silicon hairspring. It boasts a power reserve of up to 72 hours and is certified by COSC as a chronometer. This high standard is subtly indicated by the five stars on the dial, a traditional Longines symbol attesting to the quality of the movement.

The Longines Spirit Zulu Time Special Edition x Wempe is limited to 300 pieces and will be exclusively available at all Wempe branches starting January 2024. Pricing is marked at approximately $3,773 when converted to USD.
