IWC Schaffhausen unveils the Portofino Automatic Pointer Date Laureus (Ref. IW359202), the 17th special edition created in support of Laureus Sport for Good. This annual release continues the Swiss brand’s longstanding partnership with the global foundation, which uses sport as a tool to promote social change for children and young people. This year’s edition highlights Figure Skating in Harlem, a U.S.-based program that combines academic development, leadership training, and figure skating.

The watch features the signature elegant steel case that measure 39mm in diameter and 10.7mm in height. Beautifully polished it frames the dial in distinctive Laureus blue, a dark hue that is enhanced by a sun brush. It makes for a beautiful backdrop for the refined rhodium-plated hands, applied indices, and the hallmark “XII” at the 12 o’clock position. The key functional highlight is the pointer-date display located at 6 o’clock, which advances precisely at midnight.

Inside the case, the watch is powered by the self-winding IWC caliber 35160, beating at 28,800 vph and offering a 50-hour power reserve. The case back includes an engraving of the Laureus Sport for Good logo, along with a special marking for the foundation’s 25th anniversary.

Since becoming a Global Partner in 2005, IWC has collaborated regularly with Laureus, supporting over 300 social initiatives worldwide. The brand’s 2025 special edition acknowledges not only the ongoing relationship with Laureus, but also the 20th anniversary of their partnership.

Figure Skating in Harlem, the highlighted programme for this edition, works with more than 200 girls each year in New York City. It remains the only organization to combine structured academic support and leadership skills with training in the creative sport of figure skating.

The Portofino Automatic Pointer Date Laureus is paired with a blue calfskin strap and secured by a butterfly folding clasp. Pricing is marked at $5,800.
