Fast and Precious: Zenith Launches a Chronometer Sport with Rainbow-Colored Gems
The most precious introduction of Zenith at this year's LVMH Watch Week, the Chronomaster Sport Rainbow, is a beautiful take on the brand's signature high-frequency chronograph. In place of the 1/10-second display, which reflects the ability to measure 1/10-second time intervals of the high-frequency movement inside, the newcomer is adorned with a wreath of 40 baguette-cut colored gemstones in "Rainbow" style, interspersed with 10 baguette-cut diamonds.
The chromatic harmony continues on the black lacquered dial with 12 sapphire hour-markers. It goes without saying that the watch features the signature 3-6-9 tricolor overlapping counters that are slightly grooved. Despite its precious nature, the Sport Rainbow Chronomaster retains the sporty characteristics of the collection, with the faceted hour and minute hands coated with Super-Luminova for best readability in the dark.
At the heart of the Chronometer Sport Rainbow is an automatic high-frequency caliber, which can measure time to the nearest tenth of a second thanks to its operating of 5Hz. In addition to the mastery of short-time measurement, the El Primero 3600, renowned for outstanding accuracy and performance, also offers an extended power reserve of 60 hours and a date display between four and five o’clock.
The slim white gold case of the Chronomaster Sport Rainbow measures 41mm in diameter, typical of the line, and is pressure-resistant to ten bar. Another characteristic is the sapphire crystal case back, which displays refined decorations and finishings, with the skeletonized oscillating weight including a Zenith star and the blue column wheel taking center stage.
The Chronomaster Sport Rainbow is equipped with a white gold bracelet with folding clasp and available exclusively at Zenith’s brick-and-mortar and online boutiques worldwide. Pricing is marked at $112,100.
