Sometimes, less is more, and that can also apply to color. This year, Tudor is giving their successful Black Bay a monochrome treatment. With this, the brand is taking the next step in the evolution of the model, which started with its initial launch in 2012 and continued in 2016 with the introduction of the manufacture movement.

In the "monochrome" color scheme, we get to enjoy the essence of this watch, raw yet with an elegant touch. A watch made with a single purpose in mind that, in a twist, also makes it a high performer in nearly any other field. Water resistance and legibility have been on the forefront of the development of the Black Bay, and it continues to deliver just that. With the monochrome color scheme the distractions are left at the bare minimum, ensuring that you get exactly the information that you want when looking at this Tudor.

While the color scheme is set, the bracelet isn't as you get to choose from the classic three-link bracelet in rivet style, the slightly more elegant five link design, or the sporty rubber bracelet. All come with the TUDOR “T-fit” rapid adjustment clasp.

Inside the 41mm stainless steel case ticks manufacture caliber MT5602-U. It is certified as a Master Chronometer Certification by METAS, meaning that it is not only excellent at keeping precise time but also boasts impressive resistance against magnetic fields. The power reserve is an impressive 70-hours, and the water resistance is 200 meters/660 feet/20 ATM. While ceramic bezel inserts are all the trend, Tudor continues a tradition of making them for the Black Bay in aluminum, which has a delicate different look that suits the overall design of the watch very much. Of course, is also this Black Bay fitted with snowflake hands, adding to its timeless appeal.

The prices start at $4,225 for the Black Bay Monochrome on a rubber strap, $4,425 for the rivet bracelet, and $4,550 for the five-link bracelet.
