Chinese Watch Manufacturer Memorigin Releases "Man of Steel" Tourbillon
Chinese watchmaker Memorigin has teamed up with Warner Bros. to create a tourbillon inspired by the latest Superman movie, "Man of Steel." The watch is a limited edition of 130 pieces, released to coincide with the launch of the new film.
The watch borrows from design elements seen in the movie. The tonneau-shaped case, measuring 39x41mm, features a skeletonized dial resembling the armor worn by Jor-El (Superman's father) in the film. The iconic "S" symbol is, of course, represented on the dial, below the 12 o'clock position, while the logos of two of the film's villains are hidden in the bottom corners of the dial. The "S" logo can also be seen on the crown and bracelet buckle. Superman's red and blue color scheme can be seen on the hour markes, with eleven blue sapphires and one red ruby (at the 12 o'clock position).
The watch is powered by a tourbillon movement with a 60-hour power reserve.
