WatchTime New York 2024 is one day away, and the new releases to be seen at the show are coming in more and more. This year, Cyrus Genève will present a novelty, expanding on one of their most popular designs with the new Klepcys GMT Royal Purple. The new watch joins the distinct Klepcys collection with its signature cushion-style case, providing a new color to the GMT Retrograde series with a vibrant royal purple hue that works to add freshness and nobility to the line.

On the wrist, the new 100m water resistant travel-watch measures 42mm by 13.9mm in Cyrus’s classic Klepcys cushion shape, being constructed from lightweight, durable Grade 5 titanium with a smart use of brushed and polished finishing applied throughout. The distinct design is further characterized by the use of sporty hollowing upon the lugs and case sides, as well as by the dual crowns placed at 3 and 9 o’clock. The crown at 3 o’clock winds the movement and adjusts the time for both local and home time, while the pusher-integrated crown at 9 o’clock advances the local time hour hand in one-hour increments, making quick adjustments easy to accomplish.

The dial of the watch maintains the signature three-dimensional seen throughout Cyrus’ catalogue and naturally of previous editions of the Klepcys GMT Retrograde, though now with namesake Royal Purple accents. The standout feature is the openworked upper bridge, finished in the watch’s namesake color via ALD (Atomic Layer Deposition) treatment, which creates a rich, uniform hue while offering protection against corrosion.

Surrounding the bridge is a sapphire crystal disc with luminescent Arabic numerals for the hour indices, while an anthracite grey minute flange and Super-LumiNova accents ensure legibility in low-light conditions. The retrograde 24-hour dual time zone indicator arches across the center, allowing for easy tracking of home time, while the small seconds counter at 6 o’clock completes the dynamic display.

Powering the timepiece is the Cyrus CYR708 caliber, designed by Jean-François Mojon. The automatic movement operates at 28,800 vph and provides a 55-hour power reserve, with a single winding barrel supplying consistent energy. The movement is visible through the sapphire exhibition caseback, where its intricate finishes— including the use of an anglage technique and the application of a NAC-treated anthracite surface— are on display. The sunray-patterned royal purple oscillating mass is adorned with the Cyrus logo and the motto "The Conquest of Innovation."
