Leica Camera has unveiled a new timepiece collection in the new Leica ZM 12. Building upon the Leica ZM 11, it features four distinct models, each with its own style and character: ZM 12 Steel Blue Orange, ZM 12 Steel Silver Grey, ZM 12 Steel Olive Black, and ZM 12 Titanium Chocolate Black. These time-only watches pay tribute to the Leica 1, a compact camera first introduced to the public in 1925 at the Leipzig Spring Fair in Germany. Thanks to its compact and handy design, the Leica 1 opened up entirely new photographic possibilities. Under the motto "100 Years of Leica: Witness to a Century," the company celebrates this legendary camera throughout 2025.

Among the key differences between the ZM 11 and ZM 12 collections is the smaller 39mm case, made from either stainless steel or titanium, depending on the model. The watches feature classic timekeeping functions with a prominent, slightly recessed and grooved small seconds sub dial in sector style at 6 o'clock. The dual-layered watch face, with the upper one boasting a grill-like structure, creates an interesting impression of depth and light viewed from different angles. The four colorways – blue/orange, silver, brown and green – make for a stunning backdrop for the brushed indexes and faceted hands, both coated with Super-LumiNova Grade A for best in low-light conditions.

The Leica automatic movement LA-3002, developed in close collaboration with renowned Swiss movement specialists Chronode, impresses with an accuracy of -4/+6 seconds per day and boasts a remarkable power reserve of about 60 hours. The movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. It is nicely finished and features a personalized, partly skeletonized oscillating weight.

Leica dedicates a great deal of attention to the interchangeable wristbands, blending modern technology with traditional craftsmanship. Two exceptional materials were used: a technical fabric that offers exceptional strength and durability with its premium quality, and a unique beige material with a striking pattern that adds a touch of sophistication to the wrist. Additionally, a high-quality rubber strap caters to sporty tastes.

The new collection will be available from mid-April. The stainless steel variants are priced at $6,250, the ZM 12 Titanium Chocolate Black at $7,000.
