As our team prepares to take over Gotham Hall this weekend for WatchTime New York 2024, the new releases launching at the event are starting to come in. Among them is a novelty from Czapek & Cie, which will debutting its new Faubourg de Cracovie Crossroads at the event. The watch works to cross boundaries between work and play, formal and sport, “[epitomizing] the Maison’s philosophy of respecting tradition while transcending its confines.”

On the wrist, the Faubourg de Cracovie Crossroads remains true to the original series, featuring a 41.5mm stainless steel case with hollowed-out lugs and pushers integrated into the crown guards. This design not only reinforces Czapek’s signature style but also enhances the functionality and comfort of the watch on the wrist. The piece is paired with either an alligator leather strap or a sporty Alcantara option, catering to the watch’s dual character as both a refined timepiece and a functional tool.

The dial of the chronograph is where the watch truly comes to life. Available in two captivating finishes— Deep Blue with contrasting counters, and a "Secret Alloy" monochrome that matches the raw color of the precious metal base— the dial showcases a dynamic new guilloché pattern aptly named "Crossroads." This design, developed in collaboration with dial-maker Metalem, features straighter, wider, and deeper lines than traditional patterns, resembling a tire tread and nodding to the watch’s racing inspiration. The tachymeter scale, situated on the dial flange, adds a practical tool for measuring speed, while the three-dimensional effect and intense color reflect the intricate craftsmanship that defines Czapek’s aesthetic.

At the heart of the watch is the Caliber SXH3, an automatic chronograph movement developed in partnership with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier. Known for its precision and durability, this movement is equipped with a column wheel, vertical clutch, and a linear zero-resetting hammer to ensure smooth chronograph operation. Its high-frequency rate of 5Hz (36,000 vph) allows for accurate time measurement down to 1/10th of a second. The movement is beautifully finished with sand-blasted and diamond-polished bridges, an anthracite color, and an 18-carat pink gold rotor visible through the sapphire caseback.

The Czapek Faubourg de Cracovie Crossroads will be available through authorized boutiques globally. The Deep Blue version is offered as part of the regular collection, while the "Secret Alloy" edition is limited to 50 pieces, both are priced at CHF 36,000, or about $41,500 USD at the time of writing. Deliveries will begin in May 2025.
