Certina gets ready for the next dive season with the release of the Certina DS Super PH1000M. Water-resistant to an extreme depth of 1,000 meters (100 bar), it draws inspiration from DS-2 Super PH1000M, a mission timepiece used in the Tektite II program, an underwater habitat project of the U.S. government, carried out in the spring and summer of 1970 in Great Lameshur Bay, St. John Island, U.S. Virgin Islands.

The DS Super PH1000M is presented in two versions, both faithfully replicating the distinctive original design. The striking orange variant is limited to 1,000 pieces, while the black-dialed version is part of the regular production. Wide indices and hands with Super-LumiNova coating ensure maximum readability in the dark.

The stainless steel case features a gently curved barrel shape measuring 43.5mm x 42mm. At 9 o'clock there is a helium outlet valve for use on professional dives. The fluted, raised design of the rotating bezel not only makes it easy to handle, but also lends the watches a visual depth.

Beneath the signature turtle-engraved solid screw-in case back ticks the reliable Powermatic 80 automatic movement, a Swatch Group workhorse caliber with a substantial 80-hour power reserve and a magnetic field-resistant Nivachron balance spring
