Jaquet Droz unveils 5 new models for 2009 including a simple "less is more" 50mm pocket watch, two complicated pieces with mineral dials, second time zone, and 24 hour displays, and two tourbillons, one of which measures in at a stately 47mm. La Montre de Poche Jaquet Droz presents a pocket watch that embodies their “less is more” philosophy. La Montre de Poche is housed in a red gold case measuring 50mm in diameter. The dial is hand-crafted enamel while the hands are red gold, as are the accompanying chain and charms. The watch is powered by a Jaquet Droz caliber 2615 30 jewel manual winding movement with an autonomy of 40 hours. This pocket watch will be produced in a limited series of 88 numbered pieces.
Les Deux Fuseaux minéraux Produced in limited series of 8 pieces each, these watches display hours and minutes at 12, small seconds at 6, centered hours and minutes for a second time zone, date at 3, and a 24 hour counter at 9. The understated red gold cases measure 43mm in diameter. The meteorite and aventurine dials are the real stars here. Behind the dials you’ll find the Jaquet Droz automatic caliber 5L60 with 22 carat white gold oscillating weight. The movement runs in 30 jewels at 28,800 vph for 68 hours from a full wind. These pieces are water resistant to 30 meters.
Tourbillon Onyx and Tourbillon Reserve de Marche The Tourbillon Onyx and Tourbillon Reserve de Marche will be produce in limited editions of 8 and 28 pieces respectively. Both are crafted of red gold with opaline dials. The Tourbillon Onyx measures 44mm and houses hand-wound caliber JD2 running at 21,600 vph. Its big brother measures in at a stately 47mm and adds a power reserve indicator and retrograde date displays. Both pieces offer an 88 hour power reserve and both are water resistant to 30 meters.
