Grand Seiko Expands Its Classic GMT Line with Two New Variants
For more than 15 years, the Mechanical GMT from Grand Seiko’s Elegance Collection has been a cornerstone of the brand’s portfolio. Introduced in 2010, the SBGM221 quickly became a favorite thanks to its ivory dial, blued GMT hand, and understated design language. Now Grand Seiko introduces two new references, the SBGM255 Snowdrop and SBGM257 Moondrop, which retain the classic styling while presenting it through the lens of new patterns and tonal atmospheres.

Grand SeikoBoth models are housed in a 39.5mm stainless-steel case defined by clean curves and mirror-like surfaces finished using Grand Seiko’s sophisticated Zaratsu polishing technique. Slightly angled lugs emphasize the precision of the casework, while the box-shaped sapphire crystal adds a subtle vintage note reminiscent of 1960s timepieces. As true GMT watches, the hour hand can be adjusted independently, allowing for seamless time-setting while traveling.
