Ever creative in its work and collaborative efforts, the esteemed Swiss watchmaker Gerald Charles has teamed up with Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati to release the exclusive Maestro 4.0 Ducati 30° Anniversario 916, the reference GC4.0-CF-11.

The new timepiece celebrates the 30th anniversary of the legendary Ducati 916 motorcycle, showcasing classic moto-style through the brand’s distinct style of haute horlogerie. The partnership itself marks a key moment in watchmaking history, combining Gerald Charles’ expertise with the enduring legacy of Ducati.

The new limited edition brings subtle Ducati inspiration throughout its design, and this begins with the watch’s case. Here, the signature 39 mm x 41.90 mm dimensions are executed in a marbled-black carbon forged material, with the body complemented by a matte black ceramic bezel and a caseback and crown in grade 5 titanium. Each of these materials are best known for their strength and lightness, often being used in motorcycle production.

The case— which is secured to the wrist via a ruby red vulcanized rubber strap— is also water resistant to 100m and further is able to help the timepiece withstand up to 5G of shock resistance, ensuring form firmly meets function.

Like the case, the dial of the Maestro 4.0 Ducati 30° Anniversario 916 once again tastefully recalls its source material, featuring a design chiefly inspired by the Ducati 916’s wheels. The display features a two-level design with a central jumping hours that mirrors the motorcycle’s original three-spoke bronze alloy rim and is indicated via a red guichet at 12 o'clock, and then a baton-style minute counter. Use of red and black accents and smart touches of SuperLuminova provide for both great legibility and plenty of aesthetic intrigue.

At the heart of the Maestro 4.0 lies the in-house developed GCA 3002JH movement, a jumping hours complication now reintroduced by Gerald Charles after more than 13 years.

The automatic movement features a central golden oscillating mass with a honeycomb motif. With 265 components and 38 rubies, the movement is finely decorated with colimaçon, Côtes de Genève, and perlage finishes. The anti-shock Incabloc system, stop-second system, and uni-directional rotor ensure reliability and precision, while a 50-hour power reserve ensures lasting performance over wear.

Pricing and Availability

The Gerald Charles Maestro 4.0 Ducati 30° Anniversario 916 is available now through authorized boutiques, being limited to only 250 total editions. Each timepiece comes with a dedicated lithographic sketch designed by Octavio Garcia, Head of Creative at Gerald Charles.
