Alpina has finally unveiled a long-awaited chronograph version of its Alpiner Extreme tool watch. Featuring contrasted sub-dials and two dial variations, the initial release of the Alpiner Extreme Chronograph Automatic includes two dial colors. First, a silver dial with black sub-dials, a black dial ring, and black rubber-coated crown. Second, a navy blue dial with white sub-dials, a white rehaut, and blue rubber on the crown.

The dial layout is easily readable and functional: a small seconds display at 9 o’clock, a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock and a 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock next to the date window. It goes without saying that watch faces display the triangle-pattern typical for this sports watch which is water resistant to 200 meters.

The Alpiner Extreme Chronograph Automatic comes in the familiar 41mm stainless steel case, with the rectangular pushers seamlessly integrated. The intricate case, blending round and square shapes, is partly polished and partly satin-finished. The bezel screws with the Alpina triangle echo the dial pattern. The integrated steel bracelet is equipped with a deployment clasp secured by two side pushers.

The sapphire crystal case back allows a view of the automatic caliber AL-730 (Sellita SW510) with the black Alpina rotor taking center stage. The Alpiner Extreme Chronograph Automatic boasts an impressive 62-hour power reserve.

Pricing is marked at $3,195.
