While many new releases at Watches and Wonders 2024 were variations on existing models or reinterpretations of popular designs, Bremont surprised attendees at the start of this month with a completely new collection of tool watches called Terra Nova. Inspired by military pocket watches from the early 20th century, this collection includes a two-hand timepiece, a three-hand watch with date display, a three-hand watch with date and power reserve indicators as well as a compass bezel model, and a chronograph.

Embodying a rugged elegance, practicality, and a focus on functionality, the Terra Nova watches feature a distinctive geometrical cushion-shaped case made from 904L stainless steel, finely finished with a blend of brushed and polished textures, and equipped with an oversized crown. With the launch of the Terra Nova, Bremont also introduced a new bracelet design that includes curved bars and a quick-release mechanism, allowing for easy swapping with a leather or NATO strap.

The Terra Nova 38 is the entry point to the collection. While it is a perfect tool watch thanks to its highly legible and luminous dial, its 10 bar pressure resistance and the new bracelet that fits comfortably and securely around the wrist, its modest diameter of 38mm and low profile with shortened lugs makes it a stylish all-rounder for many sporting adventures, from water activities to hiking and mountaineering.

The watch's dial, available in a white and brown colorway, the latter with a gradient effect, features oversized numerals cut in full block Super-LumiNova for improved legibility in low light conditions. The application continues across the markers on the broken railroad-minute track and vintage-inspired faceted pencil hands.

The Terra Nova 38 is powered by the British brand's caliber BE36-AL. With a power reserve of 38 hours it is based on the self-winding Sellita SW2001-B. As it befits a tool watch, the case back, engraved with a globe motif, is closed.

The Bremont Terra Nova 38 retails for $3,150 on a bracelet.
