Bell & Ross BR-03 Space Mission Takes Time Into Orbit
A cosmic take on the instrument watch
From the Cockpit to Outer Space
Since introducing the BR-01 in 2005, Bell & Ross has built its design identity around instruments found in aircraft cockpits. The distinctive square case with four exposed screws on the bezel frames a round dial, translating the clarity and functionality of professional aviation instruments into a wristwatch format. The BR-03 Space Mission takes this concept in a more imaginative direction, turning the dial into a miniature window into the cosmos. The out-of-this-world watch made its debut at WatchTime New York 2026, held October 16–18 at Gotham Hall.

Bell & RossFollowing the BR-03 Astro in 2025, which depicted the Earth and its satellite, the new limited edition continues Bell & Ross’s exploration of unconventional time displays. Its inspiration comes from space exploration and the Vortex, a reusable orbital vehicle concept developed by Dassault Aviation. Designed to travel between Earth and orbital platforms, the proposed vehicle represents a vision of future space transportation. Bell & Ross brings this idea to the wrist, setting the spaceplane against a star-filled background.

Bell & Ross BR-03An Animated Display
The BR-03 Space Mission replaces conventional hands with moving graphic elements. Against a black aventurine dial that evokes a starry sky, a transparent rotating disc carries printed images of the Earth and Moon. The Moon indicates the hours, while the nose of the spaceplane marks the minutes as the vehicle travels around the dial. A small red dot representing Mars adds a further reference to humanity’s ambitions beyond Earth. Powering the display is the Sellita-based automatic BR-CAL.325 caliber, which provides a 54-hour power reserve.

The 41mm case measures 10.6mm thick and is made of microblasted black ceramic, reinforcing the watch’s technical, instrument-inspired appearance. An antireflective sapphire crystal protects the dial, and the case is water-resistant to 100 meters. Limited to 999 pieces, the BR-03 Space Mission comes with both a black rubber strap and a resilient black synthetic fabric strap. A pin buckle in microblasted steel with a matte black PVD finish completes the configuration. Pricing is set at $5,100.
