The Sky’s the Limit: Citizen Unveils New Promaster Nighthawk

Citizen has introduced two new aviator-inspired references within its Promaster Air collection, following up the release of the Promaster Sky back in March. The new Promaster Nighthawk timepieces come in two different colorways, both inspired by the cockpits of U.S military helicopters, and feature an updated case design and leather strap.

Promaster Nighthawk Ref. BJ7135-02E.

One of the new Nighthawk models (above) comes in a 42-mm-diameter black stainless-steel case to complement the black dial with bold white-color accents. The second model (below) is encased in a two-tone gray stainless steel case, also at 42 mm, with the same dial colors of the “all-black” edition, with the exception of the orange-colored accents used on the scale and hand of the dual-time-zone display. Both models feature a date window at 3 o’clock, luminous coated arrow-shaped hands and indexes for nighttime legibility, and a mineral crystal over the dial. On the inner ring of the black ion-plated bezel is an aviation-style slide rule to make vital calculations during a flight. The cases are water resistant to 200 meters.

Both versions of the Promaster Nighthawk contain the quartz-powered Caliber B877, which is solar powered using Citizen’s Eco-Drive technology. The movement has an accuracy of +15 seconds per month, within a normal temperature range of +5°C/41°F to +35°C/ 95°F, and a frequency of 32,768 Hz.

The Citizen Promaster Nighthawk Ref. BJ7135-02E is presented on an all-black leather strap, while the Ref. BJ7138-04E comes mounted on an olive-green leather strap. Both models retail for $495 and are available now online at CitizenWatch.com.

I would love to have one of your Nighthawks!!! I’m in the B.M.X. industry and I’ll bet if my team and the other riders and patrons in the industry took an up close and personal look at this time piece. They would start flying off of your shelves! It’s a huge industry, also an Olympic sport!!! With numbers in the sport reaching 3.65 million people… Also so it’s known I do travel amung the top riders and I’m also friends with most the top sponcers. Let’s show them what time it is!!! Awesome time piece by the way!

Surprised they didn’t make it 48mm or whatever the trend is. Lug length seems very wearable – I like it!
