The new timepiece borrows elements from vintage measuring instruments: the dial’s counter, from automobile dashboards; the scale, from the manometer scales found inside military jets; and the crown, from gauges used in submarines. The case is made in titanium and has a sandblasted finish. The black-finished skeleton dial combines three dial complications: a retrograde minute display at a 240-degree angle, reminiscent of RPM counters, a jumping hour display inspired by a mileage meter, and a power-reserve display that evokes the look of a fuel gauge.

Each of these 24 pieces will be installed in the LMP2 IDEC Sport racing car (below) which will compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race 2020.

White-outlined Arabic numerals from 1 to 6 represent the principal points on the minutes scale while a red hour hand, shaped like a gauge’s counter, records the minutes. The 6 o’clock marker typically found on a dial has been replaced with a rectangular aperture for the jumping hour numeral, which flips to the next one as the minute hand reaches the end of its 60-minute arc and returns to zero. Beneath the hour aperture is the fuel-gauge power-reserve indicator. The dial is protected under a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating.

The dial features: Retrograde minutes and jumping hours.

The case is fitted with a screw-down crown to ensure the watch’s water-resistance of 50 meters (5 ATM); on its rear side is a sapphire window displaying the watch’s movement, a modified ETA Caliber 2824-2. The Swiss-made, self-winding movement comprises 124 components and offers 37 hours of power.

The GT Tour Black Skeleton is limited to 24 editions.

The GT Tour Black Skeleton (Ref. RSV01.GT/530-01) is presented on a perforated, black calf leather strap with a stainless-steel butterfly folding clasp with a quick-release spring for easy changing. The limited-edition watch comes with a certificate that authenticates Reservoir’s participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2020 race. It also offers the buyer access to the IDEC team’s paddock for the 2021 race and an exclusive meeting with the Reservoir team.
