Only in New York: The New Hublot King Power 692 Bang Written byMark BernardoJuly 20, 2014 The city that never sleeps meets the watch brand that never rests: this week, fresh from serving as official timer of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Hublot launched a new limited-edition watch that will be exclusive to its flagship New York City boutique, the Hublot King Power 692 Bang. The Hublot King Power 692 Bang, limited to just 26 pieces, made its debut at a cocktail event held at the brand’s Madison Avenue boutique that featured Champagne, hors d’oeuvre and music from local New York DJs Sabrina Burda and Natalie Doge. The watch, which has the traditionally large King Power case, here made of microblasted black ceramic, sports a black-and-yellow color scheme inspired, Hublot says, by the iconic New York City taxi cabs that line the busy streets of Manhattan. The caseback of the Hublot King Power 692 Bang is inscribed with a sketch of the Hublot Madison Avenue Boutique’s facade (the “692” in the watch’s moniker signifies the actual street address, 692 Madison Avenue), and the black dial is highlighted by chronograph counters, hands, and minute track in the same yellow color as the stitching on the watch’s black rubber/hornback crocodile strap. Each Hublot 692 Bang watch also comes with a second strap in yellow, with black stitching. The watch has an automatic chronograph movement with a 42-hour power reserve. Its crown and chronograph pushers are made of black PVD titanium with black rubber inserts. The bezel features Hublot’s signature screws, also in black PVD titanium. The sapphire crystal has a nonreflective coating. The Hublot King Power 692 Bang will retail for $26,200. You don’t need to be a New Yorker to own one… but you do need to visit the New York boutique to get it. The Hublot King Power 692 Bang on display at Hublot’s Madison Avenue boutique
