The new Portuguese Hand-Wound Eight Days has all the Portuguese’s unmistakable design cues. The watch has a power reserve of 192 hours, or eight full days. A sapphire caseback provides a view of the technically sophisticated, rugged and reliable IWC-manufactured 59215 movement, which also incorporates a power-reserve display. The silver-plated dial has Arabic numerals and traditional feuille-style hands. The leather straps, produced by Italian high-quality shoe manufacturer Santoni, underscore the distinctive look of the timepiece. The stainless steel version of the Portuguese Hand-Wound Eight Days (Ref. IW510203) has a black strap; the rose-gold version (Ref. IW510204) has a brown strap. Santoni uses an elaborate process to give its leather a noticeable patina. The technique leaves the leather looking as if it already had several years of use by a careful owner, but is in fact brand-new. Santoni straps are also distinguished by their orange lining.
