Eterna Super KonTiki Diver Chronograph (Updated With Live Photos)

At the Baselworld watch fair last week, Eterna launched the Eterna Super KonTiki Diver Chronograph (below), which takes its inspiration from the redesigned base model that was introduced in 2015.

The limited blue dial version comes with a white date disk, the additional 12-hour counter at 3 o’clock is probably missing in the other two pictures.

The Eterna KonTiki collection, famously named after the wooden raft used in Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl’s 1947 ocean expedition, features a new flyback chronograph movement, Caliber 3916A, designed and manufactured in-house by Eterna. It is part of the “39” family of Eterna movements, with a balance wheel oscillating at 28,800 vph, at least 60 hours power reserve, rhodium finishing on the surfaces of the components, and microblasted decoration on the rotor.

The case of the Eterna Super KonTiki Chronograph is in polished and brushed stainless steel, measures 45 mm in diameter, and has a screw-locked crown and rotating bezel. It has a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and is water-resistant to 200 meters. The watch will be available on a rubber strap (as pictured; $4,700) or a Milanese steel bracelet ($4,900). Below you’ll find some photos we snapped of the watch at Baselworld.

Very nice watch for a very good price, perhaps a very possible purchase the next year.

I like it. It’s giong to be hard to choose between this one and the Royal Kontiki with the same movement.
