Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver Orange: A Boutique-Exclusive Limited Edition

Bell & Ross launched the BR 03-92 Diver in 2017, its first divers’ watch fashioned in the familiar, square-shaped “Instrument” case that the brand pioneered with its line of aviation watches. That black-dialed model was followed by a blue-dialed version last year, and the most recent BR 03-92, offered exclusively in Bell & Ross boutiques and e-boutiques, is the first with an orange dial.

Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver Orange

The BR 03-92 Diver, which Bell & Ross developed with the input of experienced divers and other underwater experts, meets the strict ISO 6425 international standards for “diving watches” — including a minimum water resistance of 100 meters, a calibrated bezel for setting dive times that is protected against accidental rotation, and indexes legible at a predetermined distance while underwater. Its squared ergonomic case, made of satin-polished steel, is 42 mm in diameter and water-resistant to 300 meters. Its “circle-in-a-square” design features a 60-minute unidirectional bezel with a luminescent dot at 12 o’clock for orientation. The crown is protected by an impact-resistant guard and fitted with a rubber insert for easy handling.

The watch meets or exceeds ISO standards, including a 300-meter water resistance.

The color orange, used here for the first time on a BR 03-02 dial, is the color of maritime safety, used for the suits of rescue divers. Contrasting with the painted orange surface are white applied hour indexes and black skeleton hands, coated with Super-LumiNova. The date appears discreetly in a round window at 4:30. Inside the case is an inner cage made of soft iron, which protects the movement — the automatic BR-Cal.302, based on the Sellita SW 300.1 — from the effects of magnetic fields. As with its predecessors in the BR 03-92 Diver range, the watch’s unidirectional rotating bezel with dive scale is made of black anodized aluminum.

The Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver Orange is delivered with two changeable straps: one made of woven black rubber with a satin-polished steel pin buckle, the other in a resilient, bright orange synthetic fabric that can be adjusted to wear over a dive suit with a Velcro closure system. In another first for Bell & Ross, and its signature divers’ watch, this one is available exclusively at the brand’s brick-and-mortar and digital boutiques.

Super-LumiNova coats the hands and applied indexes.
