Watches and Wonders 2023: Cartier Drops Four New Artistic Tank Louis Cartier Executions

Two new versions of the Tank Louis Cartier presented at this year’s Watches and Wonders present simplicity in an expressive color scheme with dials lacquered in Bordeaux red and green. They dispense entirely with the Tank characteristic Roman numerals and railroad-minute track.

Only the hour and minute hands, color-coordinated with the 750 yellow gold case, sweep above the background. Behind it works the hand-wound 1917 MC manufacture movement. The Tank Louis Cartier models have a diameter of 33.7mm by 25.5mm and a low height of just 6.6mm. Pricing is marked at approximately $14,000 when converted to USD.

With their refined graphic dials, two additional newcomers in the Tank Louis Cartier collection demonstrate the versatile nature of this legendary timepiece. Inspired by Tank Must models from the seventies, they depict squares and rectangles, respectively, in yellow, rose, and white gold, forming a grid pattern on the dial. They are also offered in Cartier’s “large model” size and powered by the 1917 MC caliber. One model clad in 750 yellow gold, the other in 750 pink gold. Both have a retail price of approximately $14,400 when converted to USD.
