Two-Tone Twist: Tissot Introduces PRX Powermatic 80 Steel & 18K Gold

It’s not the weekend yet, however the latest execution of the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 might get us into the mood for a dance party. The PRX collection which was introduced last year, first with a quartz movement and followed by an automatic version in fall, captures the spirit of an iconic timepiece that the Swiss brand introduced in 1978, at the height of the disco era.

The latest expansion of the line, the PRX Powermatic 80 Steel & 18K Gold, comes with the addition of an 18K rose gold bezel that frames a brown or blue dial with color-coordinated indexes and hands. The case measuring a contemporary 40.0 by 10.9mm is made of stainless steel 316L and integrates a metal bracelet.

Its exhibition case back displays the self-winding Powermatic 80 movement with a namesake 80 hours of power reserve as well as an innovative Nivachron hairspring that improves the reliability and precision. The PRX Powermatic 80 Steel & 18K Gold retails for $1,850.

Very nice looking watch; however, the crown needs to be gold, not only the bezel. Still, I’d buy one.
