Smaller Case Size, Same Great Entrance: Meet the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF 36mm

Watch designs have been trending towards smaller case sizes in recent years, with the latest example being the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF 36mm. The Swiss luxury independent brand releases three executions, two in steel and one in pink gold, all with a subtle height of 8.6mm, a material coordinated integrated bracelet, and water resistance up to 100 meters.

While the two steel iterations are equipped with a knurled bezel in 950 platinum, the gold one boasts a bezel in the same precious material. All three are driven by the new automatic manufacture caliber PF770 that was developed in order to fit into the smaller case size. Beating at 4 Hz, it amasses a power reserve of 60 hours and sports a beautifully skeletonized rose gold oscillating weight. It goes without saying that the entire movement is finished to the highest standards and displays its magnificent components through a sapphire case back.

As with the previous versions of this timepiece, the dial expresses simplicity in its purest form by paying meticulous attention to details. The skeletonized, delta-shaped hands indicate the hours and minutes. The watch dial display uses a Grain d’Orge guilloché texture that adds depth as light reflects off of the surface.

Distinguishing the three references is the distinct dial colors offered, which are “Silver Sand” and “Warm Grey” for the steel variants and “Deep Ruby” for the pink gold execution. The Tonda PF Automatic Steel Silver Sand will retail for $18,800. The Tonda PF Automatic Steel Warm Grey features 12 baguette diamonds as hour markers and retails for approximately $25,320. The Tonda PF Automatic Rose Gold Deep Ruby has a price tag of approximately $50,335.

All three versions of the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF 36mm are available at select retailers and via the brand’s website.

    Sabine,

I’m always interested in the water resistance ratings if you could include in future articles. Always a significant determinant for me because I like to wear my watches in all conditions!

    Nice reporting, thanks!
