Mido brings back the “Powerwind” in Multifort Powerwind Chronometer Limited Edition

“Powerwind,” that’s how Mido called its most powerful caliber in the fifties. Now the Swiss brand pays tribute to this “workhorse” with a limited edition of 1,954 pieces. While the 40-mm stainless steel watch follows the rhythm of the contemporary COSC-certified ETA 2836-2 caliber, it borrows the style-defining attributes of its historic predecessor.

These include the original brand and model logo, the slightly domed sunburst dial in midnight blue which is protected by a box-style sapphire crystal, and the distinctive rose gold-colored hands and indices. At three o’clock, the Multifort Powerwind Chronometer Limited Edition, which comes on a seven-row link metal bracelet, indicates the day of the week and date.

The new Mido Multifort Powerwind Chronometer Limited Edition will retail for approximately $1,200 when converted to USD.

The Oris Aquis with day/date complication and similar style and price point looks so much better than this Mido. It’s no contest.
