Introducing the H. Moser & Cie. Endeavour Perpetual Calendar Limited Editions

Seven years after the launch of the first Endeavour Perpetual Calendar, H. Moser & Cie. declares its love for this complication with an evolution of the original. Captured in a 42mm large 18k white gold case, featuring a funky blue fumé dial is this watch one of the greatest contradictions in modern-day watchmaking.

The dial is exceptionally clean for a watch with a perpetual calendar complication. The hours and minutes are shown in the traditional way, combined with a small seconds dial right below them. Another hand indicates the months, while the power reserve indicator is positioned at nine o’clock, perfectly balancing the oversized date. This design results in a perpetual calendar that is very intuitive to read, while at the same time, the complication doesn’t dominate the entire watch. To keep it this clean, Moser also opted to display the leap year indicator at the back of the watch.

What makes the Moser Endeavour Perpetual Calendar such a contradiction is the contrast between the clean dial and the complex movement. Here, the brand didn’t hold back and made it a true delight for lovers of fine watchmaking. Caliber HMC 800 features a double mainspring barrel, allowing a power reserve of a generous seven days. It comes with an interchangeable Moser escapement featuring a Straumann hairspring. Both the pallet fork and escapement are made from gold, and all the components are hand-finished and decorated. Unique is also that this perpetual calendar can be adjusted backwards and forwards at any time during the day, without problems. This is exceptionally rare for such a delicate complication and sets this watch further apart.

Known for their sense of humor and desire to be different, Moser launched two versions of the new Endeavour Perpetual Calendar. The first features the clean, funky blue fumé dial and is not limited, while the other is a so-called tutorial version, limited to 20 pieces. This one explains on the dial, in writing, all the different features that make this watch so special. The Endevour Perpetual Calendar is priced at US$60,000, while the limited edition Endeavour Perpetual Calendar Tutorial retails at US$65,000.
