Another rarity comes from Panerai, a Ref. RAM348 skeletonized ceramic wristwatch (Lot 83) from a limited edition of 30. The watch, number 23 of the 30 pieces released in 2010, is the first of this series to be offered at auction. It features a one-minute, dual-axes tourbillon, a six-day power reserve, a 24-hour indication, two time zones, and a black-coated, stainless steel double-deployant clasp. It is offered with a plethora of accessories, including its original box with certificate, an international guarantee certificate, an instruction booklet, several other booklets (Lo Scienziato 2010, Tribute to Galileo Galilei 2011 and the 2010 Panerai catalog), the book Galileo’s Telescope, three additional straps, and a hang-tag and sticker.
As per usual, Rolex will also be well represented at this Antiquorum auction. Worthy of note is this rare, two-tone Rolex Ref. 3688 in 18k yellow gold and steel (Lot 223), made around 1937, with round chronograph buttons, a tachymeter and telemeter scale on the black dial, and a “Milanese”-style steel-and-gold Rolex link bracelet with deployant clasp, signed S&L. It’s estimated at 180,000 – 250,000 HKD.
