Ulysse Nardin

Ulysse Nardin is a Swiss luxury watch brand. Ulysse Nardin was founded in 1846 and has been operating without interruption since then. In 2014 the Keuri Group (Gucci, GP) acquired Ulysse Nardin. The most successful watch collection after the founding years, which also gave rise to Ulysse Nardin’s reputation, is the marine chronometer line.

Ulysse Nardin watches have introduced several innovations to the market, such as the Trilogy of Time in the 1980s with three different astrological timepieces: Astrolabium Galileo Galilei (displays local time, solar time, orbits and eclipses of the sun and the moon, positions of several major stars). The Planetarium Copernicus. The Tellurium Johannes Kepler. In 1996, Ulysse Nardin produced a Perpetual Calendar, which In 1999 was combine with the GMT± complication. Today, the Ulysse Nardin El Toro is the newest timepiece of that line. In 2001, the Ulysse Nardin Freak Blue Phantom offered a 7-day power reserve with a carrousel tourbillon and the Dual Indirect Escapement (with silicon to increase time for lubrication intervals). Shortly after the Ulysse Nardin Freak Diavolo with 8-day power reserve, a flying seconds tourbillon and Silicium technology hit the market. In 2002 Ulysse Nardin launched the Genghis Khan, a westminster carillon tourbillon jaquemarts minute repeater, with four gongs, each with a different tone. In 2003 Ulysse Nardin introduced the Sonata, based on the technical movement and features novel alarm setting with a countdown indicator and the patented dual time system with an instant time zone adjuster. In 2009 Ulysse Nardin launched the Moonstruck, which simulates the rotation of the Moon around the Earth, as well as the apparent movement of Sun around the globe. The Ulysse Nardin Stranger hit the market in 2013 , it features an in-house developed musical mechanical watch utilizing a silicium based technology from the UN-690 movement, it also plays the melody “Strangers in the Night”.
