Vacheron Constantin

Vacheron Constantin is a Swiss luxury watch company. Vacheron Constantin was founded in 1755, it is one of the oldest watch brands. In 1819 the company’s official name was changed to Vacheron & Constantin, having previously operated under just the Vacheron name (the founder’s last name).

The first Vacheron boutique opened in 1906 on Quai de l’Ile, which eventually became the name of a successful Vacheron Constantin watch (still available today). In 1936, during a difficult time for the company because of the Great Depression, Charles Constantin became the head and this marked the first time in 80 years that the Constantin family was in charge of the manufacture. Today Vacheron is operated as a member of the Richemont Group (Piaget, Montblanc, IWC, Panerai). Among those who have worn a Vacheron Constantin watch are Napoleon Bonaparte, Pope Pius XI, and Harry Truman. Notable models include the Vacheron Constantin Patrimony, Vacheron Constantin Malte, Vacheron Constantin Quai de l’lile, Vacheron Constantin Overseas, Vacheron Constantin 1972, Vacheron Constantin Historiques, Vacheron Constantin Metiers d’art.
