2017: THE WATCH YEAR IN REVIEW

The 10 Most Popular Posts on WatchTime in 2017

As we approach the end of 2017 and prepare for a new year of watch releases in 2018, we wanted to take a look back at some of the most noteworthy timepieces that came out this year. Check back each day this week for a new list focused on everything that 2017 had to offer. — The WatchTime editors

Is anyone else stunned that in just a few hours 2017 will have wrapped up for good? Here at WatchTime, we were so busy with writing for the magazine and website, posting on social media, and preparing for WatchTime New York that it feels like only yesterday we were kicking off the year in Geneva for SIHH 2017 (the 2018 edition is only two weeks away!).

Nonetheless, this was another exceptional year for the watch industry that was filled with the release of some truly innovative timepieces and countless special moments shared with the mechanical marvels on our wrist.

While it would be easy to sit here and memorialize 2017 with a soliloquy on the industry as a whole, everyone has New Year’s Eve parties to get to, so here’s some light reading that highlights our 10 most read stories of the year. We hope it helps you recall some of the best moments 2017 had to offer, like it did for us.

Happy reading, and more importantly, Happy New Year.

I have been wearing my new Presage for seven straight days. In that time the watch is running a total of 11 seconds fast. REMARKABLE. Between one and two seconds fast per every 24 hours.

  2. The Sea Dweller certainly caused a storm. There’s always going to those that dislike something about a certain watch but there were more happy people than unhappy. I was told at my local Rolex authorised dealer that the waiting list is currently 3 years to get this fantastic timepiece. It’s the one watch I think of whenever Baselworld is mentioned
