Tempting Tonneaus: Vacheron Constantin Redesigns the Malte Collection (Video)

Malte 100th Anniversary Edition

Vacheron Constantin celebrates the anniversary of the first tonneau watch with a limited edition piece that captures the purity and elegance of an earlier era. The 36.7 x 47.6 mm case is crafted from 950 platinum, while the dial features painted “exploding” Roman numerals, giving this piece a strong vintage appeal.

Vacheron Constantin hand-wound Calibre 4400 drives the hour and minute hands. Developed and crafted within the Manufacture, this movement is endowed with a 65-hour power reserve thanks to its large barrel. Beating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vph), it comprises 106 parts and measures 28.60 mm (12.5’’’).

The 100 watches in this Malte 100th Anniversary Edition, each individually numbered on the caseback, are fitted with a strap in blue Mississippiensis alligator, secured by a Malte cross-shaped buckle in 950 platinum.

The suggested retail price is $51,300 with the retail launch scheduled for September.
