Frederique Constant Announces New Colorways in Hybrid Manufacture Line

Recently, we had the opportunity to spend an extended period of time with the Frederique Constant Hybrid Manufacture and were overall pleased with what we found. (Click here for our full hands-on review.) The “smart” technology imbued within the first series of models released last February was unobtrusive, useful, and, most importantly, didn’t take away from the joy of wearing a mechanical timepiece.

As of this morning, Frederique Constant has released two new variants to the Hybrid Manufacture lineup, bringing the entire collection to six total watches. The two new models include a silvered dial matched with a polished stainless steel case and a navy blue dial in rose gold-plated stainless steel.

Everything else about the new models remains the same including the usage of automatic manufacture Caliber FC-750, with its proprietary electronic module that allows for a variety of “smart” capabilities such as step counting, sleep tracking, optional world-time display, dynamic coach, and caliber analytics (measures rate, amplitude, and beat error once per day). The bi-compax dial layout, split between the date wheel at 6 o’clock and the “smart” display at 12 o’clock are still here, as is the overall case diameter of 42 mm, onion crown, and pusher between 9 and 10 o’clock that enables Bluetooth connectivity.

As we said in our recent review, Frederique Constant took a risk when introducing the Hybrid Manufacture line. It’s the inclination of many enthusiasts to dismiss anything based on electronics as horological heresy, but Frederique Constant’s empirical approach, based on adding never-before-seen complications to a mechanical timekeeper, should endear it to those collectors and enthusiasts willing to take the chance on something new.

The polished stainless steel Hybrid Manufacture with a silver dial (FC-750V4H6) is priced at $3,695; the rose gold-plated stainless steel model with a navy blue dial (FC-750N4H4) is priced at $3,895.

    Dear Logan Baker,
I like your articles but as a watch enthusiast I have followed FC for the last few years. I like what they do. I m a fan of their Chronograph n Perpetual Calander one of the cheapest in the market but very elegant timepieces. The Hybrid especially the new rose gold on a bluedial looks stunning and at a very good price point. Well Done FC.
    Cheers Thomas
