Around the Web: The Cartier/Chanel/Tourneau Feud, CNN on Pre-Owned Watches, and More

3. A Nose for Art

According to Wikipedia, ” ‘Nose art” is a decorative painting or design on the fuselage of a military aircraft… and is a form of aircraft graffiti.”  We took note of this very artful shot of a very unconventional aeronautic-inspired timepiece, the MB&F “HM4 Razzle Dazzle” with “nose art” adorning its fuselage.  The artwork is hand-painted.

This could potentially inspire an entirely new product line for the brand.  Who “nose,” after all?

4. Buying the Watch You’ve Always Wanted at an Affordable Price

Purchasing a pre-owned watch can be a smart way of obtaining a timepiece you’ve always wanted, at a very gratifying discount.  It is not beyond the limits of reason to attain savings of 50 to 90 percent off the original purchase price. In this short, but highly educative video, CNN Money’s Carolyn Bigda speaks with watch expert Julien Schaerer, of Antiquorum Auction House in New York City, about what to look for when when buying a vintage timepiece.

Let us know about your own experiences with pre-owned watches in the comments below.

Until next week, enjoy.  Happy New Year!

Is there any way to get the Bell & Ross clock that is keeping time to work on my desktop? Other watch dials would be great, but this would be a nice touch to my workspace.

    Thanks!
