G-SHOCK Full Metal Series Adds Titanium with New GMWB5000TB

First introduced in 2018, G-SHOCK’s Full Metal Series has expanded its range, adding a number of different colorways to match the demands of the Japanese watch brand’s legions of fans. Now, just in time for the holidays, G-SHOCK adds the new GMWB5000TB to the Full Metal series, a watch distinguished by its use of lightweight titanium for both high durability and ideal wrist comfort.

Significantly lighter than its stainless steel predecessors (34% lighter, to be exact), the watch uses titanium for its case, back, bezel, and bracelet and also features a black DLC coating that adds a luxurious finish as well as a high level of scratch resistance. The distinctive square-shaped case and brick-pattern digital-display dial take their inspiration from the iconic DW5000C, the first-ever G-SHOCK from 1983.

While the GMWB5000TB offers a high level of retro-look appeal, its array of functions is decidedly modern, boasting multiple examples of the high-tech we’ve come to expect from G-SHOCK in recent years. Among these features are a Super Illuminator LED light, the collection’s renowned shock resistance and 200-meter water resistance, and tough solar technology that allows the watch to be powered by light.

The model’s Bluetooth connectivity to pair with a smartphone through the G-SHOCK app allows for two-way time sync functionality, while the G-SHOCK Multi-Band 6 Atomic Timekeeping technology embedded into the watch provides ultra-precise, to-the-second timekeeping via radio signals from up to six different transmitters worldwide. Other functional features include a 1/100-second stopwatch, an LED light for nighttime legibility, world time indication, four daily alarms, and a countdown timer.

It’s a little sad to see Casio losing it with the pricing lately.
I bet inside this watch is the EXACT same module as in all the other B5000’s. Also, the titanium doesn’t warrant such a price. And as far as I know it’s not a limited either.
Right now though, I’m perfectly happy with my black full metal on which I modded the display to a positive display :)
Bit would’ve loved to get my hands on one of these titanium ones, because I imagine they have a great weight. But the price unfortunately makes this a big no for me :(
