E.C.Andersson Watch Co. just ended a 21-day pre-order special for the Calypso timepiece on its website, and it’s almost completely sold out. A successful release was expected, but the brand didn’t imagine it going over this well. Although the Calypso collection isn’t yet “in stock,” only 15 Calypso Premium watches are left to order out of the limited edition run of 80. The same goes for the Calypso Sport, a slightly lower-priced sibling, with thirteen currently available.
The Calypso Collection
The Calypso Premium is the crown-jewel of the E.C.Andersson collection, featuring a Precision Certified ETA 2824 automatic movement with a custom-made winding rotor displayed through an exhibition case-back. “Bohuslän” arrow hands sit on top a blue two-tone gradient dial, with illuminated applied indices.
The Calypso Premium is hand-regulated and Precision Certified in-house, promising precision of within -1/+4 seconds average deviation per 24 hours running time.
The Calypso Sport is the more affordable sibling, featuring an automatic Cal. 9015 movement with stop-second function. The dial has a complex dual-textured embossed surface.
Both models use a 316L sandblasted steel case with polished details, mounted on an integrated steel bracelet or a genuine calf-leather strap with a uni-molded E.C.A Buckle.

For those of us who who remember the Rolex Oyster Quartz, 17000 model and 17013, this model may be dead but it is certainly not forgotten. To claim progressive design on what is clearly a Rolex OQ design is just plain wrong, From Gerry In Australia.
