Cameron Diaz Lends Star Power to TAG Heuer’s New Link Lady

Cameron Diaz with TAG Heuer Link Lady One of the most buzzed-about secrets at this year’s Baselworld watch fair was the identity of the female celebrity chosen to endorse TAG Heuer’s new line of Link Lady watches. Speculation came to an end at TAG’s launch party on March 7, when Cameron Diaz, the sultry star of Charlie’s Angels and There’s Something About Mary, stepped onto the stage wearing one of the new models. “I am thrilled to be here in Switzerland to be a part of the launch of the Link Lady” said the actress. “Throughout my career, I have been very selective about aligning myself with brands. I love the fact that TAG Heuer challenges the rules and thinks outside the box and I’m honored to be associated with such an iconic and forward-thinking brand.” An admitted fan of the company’s watches, Diaz joins tennis champ Maria Sharapova and actor Leonardo DiCaprio as TAG Heuer “brand ambassadors.” The new watches have round, pebble-shaped cases with a central-lugs design and come in two sizes, 29-mm and 34-mm diameter. The dials, which are available in several colors, have a light, concentric guilloché pattern. The bracelets are in TAG Heuer’s well-known “link” style, with S-shaped links. The models all have quartz movements except for the collection’s haute couture crown jewel, called the Diamond Star. The decorative, automatic mechanical movement in the Diamond Star has an oscillating weight that is actually larger in diameter than the movement itself. The rotor is centered by a complex construction that makes it appear as if it is floating in space as it sways in a balletic motion between two sapphire crystals. The watch has an 18k rose gold case and is decorated with a total of 192 diamonds. Cameron Diaz with new Link
