For 2011 Vacheron Constantin introduces the first high complication in the Patrimony Contemporaine collection, and it is perhaps the most useful of all, the perpetual calendar. This ultra-thin automatic winding perpetual calendar can keep track of all the vagaries of the calendar and require no correction whatsoever until March 1, 2100. Find wallpaper and pricing inside.
Outside the Patrimony Contemporaine Perpetual Calendar embodies simple elegance with small touches that set is apart. Classic baton hands turn above a cambered dial on which the minute track is beaded with gold cabochons. The hour markers are both trapeze and baton-shaped. Beneath the opaline silvered dial, the lunar disc presents a golden moon set against a lapis lazuli sky. The 41 mm-diameter by 8.9 mm thick 18K pink gold case is water-resistant to 30 meters and fitted with a sapphire crystal back revealing the engine inside. The Patrimony Contemporaine Perpetual Calendar is equipped with an alligator leather strap secured by an 18K pink gold folding clasp.
The case houses an ultra-thin automatic-winding Calibre 1120 QP perpetual calendar movement that measures a mere 4.05mm thick. Beating at a frequency of 2.75 Hz (19,800 vibrations per hour), it has an approximately 40-hour power reserve. Calibre 1120 QP drives indications of the hours, minutes and perpetual calendar featuring the day of the week in a subdial at 9 o’clock, the date in a subdial at 3 o’clock, the month and leap year on a 48-month subdial at 12 o’clock, and the moon phase at 6 o’clock.
The European retail price for the Patrimony Contemporaine Perpetual Calendar is 49,500 euros. Complete technical data appears below the images, which may be enlarged with a click.
