Showing at WatchTime New York 2016: Corum Golden Bridge Round

America’s largest luxury watch show is only three weeks away! For the second year in a row, WatchTime New York will showcase an array of luxury watch brands, and their newest models, at Manhattan’s Gotham Hall on October 14-15 (Click here for event details and to purchase tickets). Among the exhibiting brands is Corum, whose highlights will include the new, round version of its now-iconic Golden Bridge timepiece.

CORUM GOLDEN BRIDGE ROUND

The Corum Golden Bridge Round — the latest iteration of the original Golden Bridge, which debuted in 1980 in a barrel-shaped case — features a new, baguette-shaped movement whose architecture is modeled after the famous Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.

The watch’s case — available in 18k rose gold (pictured), 18k rose gold set with 84 diamonds, or 18k white gold with diamonds, measures 43 mm in diameter and 8.3 mm thick and is water-resistant to 30 meters. Sapphire crystals on the front and back and a crystalline ring along the sides offer a 360-degree view of the movement. Developed by watch designer Dino Modolo, the manual-wind movement, Caliber CO113, uses gold for its mainplate and bridges and is anchored to the case by a latticework patterned after the Golden Gate’s suspension structure.

The transparent dial has gold-toned hour appliques and hands; the hands are baton-shaped, faceted and diamond-polished.

Caliber CO113 is equipped with a balance with variable inertia and a barrel with slipping spring and beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. Fully wound (via the unconventionally placed crown at the bottom of the case, a hallmark of Golden Bridge watches), the movement stores 40 hours of power reserve.
