The America’s Cup returned to New York last week, and so did Nick and Giles English, the British brand’s co-founders:
Bremont not only sponsors the defending champion Oracle Team USA (OTUSA), but is also the first official British timing partner to The America’s Cup since 1851 — a fact reflected in a special-edition collection of timepieces that celebrate its involvement, the more elegant Regatta AC and the Regatta OTUSA model with a bi-directional bezel:
The Regatta chronograph features a regatta countdown function with numerical, 15-minute display countdown and a five-minute start time. It is powered by Bremont’s BE-17AE caliber (based on the ETA 7750). Furthermore, the watch offers a 12-hour counter and a date function.
The Regatta OTUSA will be produced in both black-dial (OTUSA-R/BK) and white-dial (OTUSA-R/WH) variants and 235 pieces of each watch will be available. The diameter of the COSC-certified watch is 43 mm, and the case remains water resistant to 100 meters.
Below you can watch the countdown in action:
As an added bonus, the watches use high-grade carbon fiber from the Cup-winning 2013 OTUSA AC72 yacht, incorporated into the crown.
The Bremont Regatta AC, available in rose gold (AC-R/RG) and steel (AC-R/SS), boasts a more classical styling. Bremont will be producing 235 pieces in stainless steel (see below) and 135 in rose gold (not pictured).
The watches will be shipping — pun intended — in Summer 2016. Prices start at $6,895.
Bremont cases are just too small.
