Concord Launches Two New Neo-Black C2 Chronographs

Concord C2Chronograph

Concord’s new C2 chronographs present the brand’s signature C1 design elements in a slightly smaller package. Where C1 chronographs come in at about 44 x 16.7 mm, the C2 measures a more manageable 43 x 12.75 mm. The prices are also smaller. The C2 debuts in October with two matte black models: one with red accents and one without. Find wallpaper and prices inside.

Aside from the smaller overall size, the C2 has three primary aesthetic differences compared with the C1: a tri-compax chronograph layout rather than the “Valjoux” 12-6-9 arrangement; the eight tabs surrounding the bezel assume a lower profile, and the strap is mated to the case by means of tubular horizontal attachments.

The dial retains the multi-level effect, and legibility remains good. Below the dial an automatic, 37-jewel ETA 2894-2 movement drives the displays.

The MSRP for these black PVD models is $6500. Complete specs appear below the images, which may be enlarged with a click.

Tubular horizontal attachments embed the wristband firmly into the slightly slimmer 43 mm diameter black PVD-coated stainless steel case

2 mm thick sapphire crystal, the strongbox-shaped case-back ensuring water resistance to 100 meters/10 atmospheres, the visible screws, and the triple-blade butterfly clasp.

27-jewel automatic movement beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour drives a wealth of useful indications, including the date and chronograph functions, all clearly displayed on the three-part tone-on-tone dial. The latter is exceptionally legible, thanks to its sophisticated color scheme, circular-grained and sandblasted finishing and beautifully balanced layout – as well as the luminescent hands and hour markers appearing on the inner bezel as an interpretation of Concord’s signature protective tabs.

In the red-highlighted version, the crimson-tipped rotating small seconds disk marker at 3 o’clock matches the bright accents on the vulcanized rubber strap.
